Hockey Play

Take the Vancouver Canucks -1.5 +115 vs New York Islanders. What can you say about this Canuck team other than good things, great things even. After enduring one of the most arduous of road trips ever if not the most, this team comes home and doesn't miss a beat by taking down both Ottawa and Calgary, outscoring them 8-2 in the process. This team has won 5 of their last 7 games and all 5 wins have come by 2 goals or more. Vancouver is hot on offense right now averaging 4.2 goals for in their last 5 and are a monster on home ice, with a 25-7-1 record. People might be looking for a letdown spot here, but this team has showed that when a couple guys aren't in top form, others will pick up the slack. They did this throughout the road trip and displayed tons of character in picking up a winning record in the 14 game haul. Now they face and Islanders team who has improved but has lost its last 8 road games and 6 of them by 2 goals or more. This team's penalty killing is atrocious when on the road and they get to face a Vancouver power play unit that is hitting 23 per cent on home ice and only allowing 1.94 goals against on home ice as well. Vancouver continues its solid offensive output along with its home winning ways here and we like them by 2 goals tonight.
