Angels on a run

The Los Angeles Angels have now won 6 games in a row, and are 13-3 on their current run. Granted that 8-4 Angels pitcher Joe Saunders has yet to win in 5 attempts in Texas, we have to take advantage of the current good play and the value of the line. Also, keep in mind that Texas starter Scott Feldman hasn't won a decision in his last 4 outings.

So, today we're taking the value in the line, selecting the Angels (+103).

A total for Florida

Our winning streak is still alive as we motor along. Today, we will attempt to cash in on a total.

When the Washington Nationals have met the Florida Marlins this season, the Over has come in 5 out of the 6 times. Olsen has an ERA of 7.24 while Nolasco has an ERA of 6.42 Granted Nolasco has been pitching very well of late, the Marlins may be able to cover the total on their own tonight.

Today's play is the Washington Nationals - Florida Marlins Over 9 (-120).

Sunday value!

Still riding the streak as the Boston Red Sox got by the Atlanta Braves 1-0 yesterday. Today, we see value in an inter league game.

The Los Angeles Angels are now in 1st place in the American League West. They have won 4 games in a row and 7 of their last 10. The Angels are averaging 6.2 runs per game against National League pitching, batting .298 against them. The Arizona Diamondbacks have lost 7 of their last 8 and are only playing .382 at home. Granted Max Scherzer has pitched well in his previous 4 starts, the line still shows too much respect for a team that is 30-45 so far this season.

Today's value pick is the Los Angeles Angels (+115).

A Saturday Gift?

Our winning streak keeps chugging along, today we'll look at the game between the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves.

This afternoon, Boston sends 9-3 knuckle baller Tim Wakefield to the mound. Boston has a record of 17-6 in their last 23 games, and the pitching staff has an ERA of 3.38 over that span. The Red Sox have beat Javier Vazquez 6 of the 9 times they have faced him, and in the last 2 meetings, Vazquez has given up 12 runs in 11 2/3 innings. Also, keep in mind that the Braves are still playing under .500 at home. I see a lot of value in this line, today's pick is the Boston Red Sox (+121).

A total for the Subway Series opener.

The streak is still alive! Today we look at the opening game of the subway series.
CC Sabathia left his last outing very early in the game with an injured bicep. Sabathia has an ERA of 4.50 so far in June, and the Mets are hitting .312 against left handed pitching. Mike Pelfrey has an batting average against of .326 and an ERA of 7.08 this month. There seems to be some value in the Over, so my pick is the New York Yankees vs New York Mets Over 9 (+105).

Thursday in Hotlanta...

We are on quite a roll now, let's continue with a look at the game in Atlanta tonight. The New York Yankees will send 7-3 Andy Pettitte out to the mound. He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings in his last outing giving up 1 earned run. Pettitte is 4-1 on the road this season with an ERA of 2.35 .

Looking at their opposition, Atlanta is still playing under .500 at home, and more importantly, the Braves haven't won a series since sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays May 22nd to the 24th. Today's pick is the New York Yankees (-107).

Hump Day Total

The Red Sox came through for us yesterday, let's continue the streak with a total tonight. Carl Pavano has gone back to his old ways with a bloated ERA of 7.23 in the month of June. In his last 9.2 innings he has allowed the opposition 20 hits. Cleveland is 6-1 for the Over in the last 7 games and are averaging a little over 6 runs scored when facing left handed pitching. Zach Duke of the Pirates has a batting average against of .314 for the month of June, therefore today's pick is Cleveland Indians vs Pittsburgh Pirates OVER 8.5 (-120).

Tuesday in Washington

The Colorado Rockies came through for us. Let's continue today with the Boston Red Sox. Boston has won its last 4 series, and are 13-5 so far this month! In June, the Red Sox have a combined ERA of 3.24, while starting pitcher tonight, Brad Penny hasn't given up a run in his last two appearances. The Washington Nationals have been playing better of late, but are still only 5-5 in their last 10 games, and should be no match for the Red Sox. Today's pick is the Boston Red Sox (-128). Blue Monday...

Not too much to choose from today, but if you're looking for value, there's a heap of it with the Colorado Rockies (+110) to beat the Los Angeles Angels. Granted Matt Palmer is 6-0, the Rockies are going for their 17th win in the last 18 games. There's a certain force that surrounds a team when they're on a streak like that, bounces go their way, calls go their way, so I'll take my chance with them as the dog tonight. My value pick for Monday is the Colorado Rockies (+110).
