NFL Playoff Picks Week 1

New England Patriots -3 vs Baltimore Ravens. I am on the home team and their 8-0 record at Foxboro this year. In those 8 wins at home, the Patriots won all but one by 6 points or more and this team, which may not be the powerhouse it was once, still has the tools and the personnel to take care of business against a less than intimidating Baltimore team. Baltimore is 1-6 versus teams that are in the playoffs this year and Joe Flacco is still a work in progress, and playing from behind isn't a team's forte that relies so heavily on the running of Ray Rice. The edge here for New England is that QB Tom Brady should get time to throw all day here as Baltimore's pass rush isn't a daunting one and Brady is throwing against a very weak secondary. If the Patriots, who went into Indy and had a double figure lead, can get the same early lead in this game, the Ravens will be hard pressed to come back like Indy did, and the Patriots will survive round 1 with dominant play on their home field one more time this year.
