Today, I like the New York Yankees (-125) vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.
Listed Pitchers are AJ Burnett and Brett Cecil. The Yankees in this matchup at this price in this spot is a must buy in my assessment. They are 12-5 in the last 17 meetings and face a Toronto team that while they are hitting alot of extra base hits and homeruns when they do make contact, they still aren't consistent at making contact and their team average is a sore spot for this squad. AJ Burnett has only given up 2 homeruns in his last 6 starts and is pitching well right now for the Yanks. He's going to get support from this vaunted Yanks' lineup who have simply feasted on Brett Cecil in the two times they have faced him. In only 8 innings total in the two starts, Cecil was touched up for 10 runs and 16 hits, walking 8 and allowing 3 homeruns. He also has a 6.19 ERA at home this year. Toronto's bullpen woes of late also come into play considering the strong possibility that Cecil gets knocked out early and that favors the Yanks as well.
Good Luck!

Tuesday Baseball Play
Now 18-17 (-159) for the season.
Today we're taking the Over 9 (-105)in the Red Sox vs Yankees game.
Boston starters have a 5.16 ERA that ranks near the bottom of the league, and the team is already 8 1/2 games behind first-place Tampa Bay.
Beckett (1-1, 7.46 ERA) has been dealing with back spasms since his most recent start May 7, when he allowed nine runs in 5 1/3 innings of a 10-3 loss to the Yankees.
Sabathia (4-2, 3.71) had more problems in his last outing, allowing a season-high six runs in six innings of a 6-0 loss at Detroit on Thursday.
The Over is 6-1 in games between these 2 teams this season.

Tuesday Baseball Play
Our play got rained out yesterday, so we remain with a Record of 10-9 (+003).
Today, grab the New York Yankees (-162).
The Orioles are 3-16 on the season and the New York Yankees are getting excellent results from Phil Hughes.
After flirting with a no-hitter his last time out, Hughes returns to the mound Tuesday night with the Yankees hoping to keep the Baltimore Orioles winless at home.
Hughes (2-0, 2.19 ERA) did not make his 2010 debut until April 15 since New York (12-6) did not need a fifth starter to that point. He turned in a solid five-inning effort to beat the Angels that night and was simply brilliant in his next outing.
This one shouldn't be close.

Saturday Action...
Take the Vancouver Canucks -1.5 (+160) vs Toronto Maple Leafs, game time is 7 p.m EST. This game will have a bit more edge to it than usual as Vancouver accusing Toronto of tampering charges earlier this year is an issue between these two teams. However, Toronto is having trouble scoring and in all likelihood looks to be facing Roberto Luongo as he heats up after a somewhat cold start. Vancouver is a hardworking team and more disciplined and they get the luxury of facing Joey McDonald in the Toronto nets. Like the value here in a Vancouver 2 goal victory.

Monday Plays...
For the NFL Monday night, I'm still going with the Over trend, in this case Over 43.5, I also think that the Broncos are for real this season, I took them getting 3 points and also took them on the money line.
In the MLB, I like the Yankees tonight at +122.
Denver-San Diego Over 43.5 (-110)
Denver +3 (-110)
Denver +160
Yankees +122
Have a great day!

TGIF Plays....
Today, take the Los Angeles Dodgers (-138) to beat the San Francisco Giants. I like the value here for us with the Dodgers once again giving it to Sanchez. They have won all 4 games started by him this year by the following scores. 9-1 (six days ago), 4-2/8-0/5-3. As you can see they have pounded him twice and won two closer games, but the fact is all 4 have been by 2 runs or more. Now, not that it's a surety to happen tonight, but Padilla has pitched very well for the Dodgers since his arrival and San Francisco's lineup can struggle at times.
Also adding the New York Yankees as a +108 dog.
More picks delivered to you here.

Sunday Gravy Plays
Today, I like the New York Yankees -144 vs the Toronto Blue Jays. Getting the Yankees at this price going up against a left hander who hasn't been good for quite some time is too good to pass up. The Yankees are hitting .300 vs lefthanders on the road, while the Jays are struggling vs right handers with a .205 clip their last 10. Mitre has been decent his last 3 with only 14 hits allowed in 16 innings and a 2.16 ERA. Tallet on the other hand is 0-3 his last 3, with a 7.46 ERA. Like the decent price on a team that has won 50 of its last 68 games.
Adding the Chicago White Sox (+120).

3 Sunday Gravy Plays
We went 2-0 yesterday which now makes us 18-12 for August.
For Sunday I like the Cleveland Indians (+132) against the Minnesota Twins.
On the year Blackburn is 8-7 with a 3.99 ERA and a .292 batting average against. He has good numbers at home this year, as well as good numbers against Cleveland, but his recent performances have been awful. ERA over his last 3 outings is 6.43. For August he is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA and as .382 batting average against. Since the All-Star break he is 0-3 with an 8.87 ERA and a batting average against of .407. In 23.1 innings since the All-Star break, he has allowed 44 hits and 5 walks with only 6 strikeouts.
The Indians start Aaron Laffey. He is 6-3 on the year with a 3.25 ERA and a .255 batting average against. His ERA over his last 3 outings is 3.00. Against the Twins this year he is 2-0 with a 1.26 ERA and a .208 batting average against. For the month of August he is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and a .218 batting average against. Since the All-Star break he is 3-1 with a 1.99 ERA.
