March Madness - 3/21 Plays

Now 4-4.

Sunday Picks:

Maryland Terrapins -1 -102 vs Michigan State Spartans. The Terps are playing great basketball down the stretch and have won 8 of their last 9 and are getting scoring from leaders like Vasquez and Williams but also from depth players as well. Michigan State is almost on the other end of the spectrum. Their late season play has left something to be desired and they barely escaped being upset by New Mexico State as a 13 pt favorite. Their scoring has been hit and miss and I think their mediocre play isn't enough to slip by today.

Cornell Big Red +4.5 -109 vs Wisconsin Badgers. Cornell as a 12 seed took down the Temple Owls who relied on their defense all year and got by with an ok offense. Well as luck would have it, Cornell faces a similar styled squad today in Wisconsin who also rely on their defense and really struggle with generating any consistent kind of offense. This match up is bad news for the Badgers and Cornell is coming into this game with confidence. They can shoot from the perimeter well and down the 3s as well as anyone and did both against Temple. Add in a middle man in Booth and this team is a well balanced foe. Like them to win outright here, but we'll be prudent and take Cornell and the very attractive +4.5 points.

Texas A+M Aggies -1.5 -105 vs Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue while showing some moxie in beating Siena when everyone thought they were one and done simply has a bad match up here today. They are a defensive team that again, doesn't score efficiently nor are a diverse bunch. Yet they face a similarly talented Aggies squad who have more scoring and are a more athletic group than the Boilermakers. And that is enough for us to go on this Big 12 team against a Big 10 team today. Texas A+M -1.5.

California Golden Bears/Duke Blue Devils OVER 143 -110. This won't be a full on track meet today with these two teams, but both have the talent to get it done offensively and it says here both will hit 70 pts today offensively leaving us a very strong probability of hitting this number. Duke is as well balanced a team as they have had in years, and California is tenacious on offense and find ways to get to the bucket. They will make Duke work and likely foul and those points will prove beneficial to us as the game progresses. Duke offensively should be able to do what they please against a Cali team that isn't big inside or quick in their defensive efforts. Like the OVER 143 here.

March Madness - 3/18 Plays

Villanova -18
I think this is the big blowout of the day. Nova gets back on track and crushes Robert Morris

BYU -5
I liked Florida earlier in the week but the more I look at this game, the more I see BYU pulling away in second half to get the cover.

Montana +9
I think this one goes down to the end and someone wins on a buzzer beater.

Saturday Pick

Take the Chicago Cubs vs St Louis Cardinals Under 7 (+100).

Last night these two teams managed 10 hits and 5 runs in a 3-2 St Louis win and today these two pitchers will be just as tough to get hits and runs off, so we like the under here today. Neither the Cubs or St Louis is hitting the cover off the ball and with Carpenter pitching at home where he has a 2.76 ERA, and during the day where it's even better at 2.40. Add in the fact he has allowed only 3 runs vs the Cubs this year in 11 innings pitched. He has a 3-1 mark and a 1.69 ERA vs the Cubs at home. Yes, the Cubs will find the going tough today for sure.

The Cardinals are also struggling at the plate and haven't hit Dempster a lot this year. He has a 1.69 ERA in his last 3 games overall and this same pitching matchup back in May finished with a 2-1 final score. Cubs are 7-2-1 UNDER in their last 10 road games and 7-2 UNDER in their last 9 games overall while St Louis is 7-3 UNDER in their last 10 overall. In 8 meetings this year, the UNDER has hit in 6 games.

Adding the Minnesota Twins (+110) and Air Force (-17).
Good Luck All!
